It’s been almost two months since I last posted an update here. I’ve been really busy and I’ve been thinking about how to handle writing for three different sites; this personal blog, 3rd World Geeks, and The Mad Sorbetero. I think I figured out how to use this blog – I’m going to turn it into a really personal one, an outlet for my video gaming thoughts. This time around, I’ll keep my posts short and sweet and avoid talking about more than one game per post.
Thanks to the release of the Cloud Strife DLC, I’ve been playing Super Smash Bros. again. Man, Cloud is an awesome fighter. I’ve been using Ryu for months and I’ve never really gotten the hang of him; I can’t even win consistently against Level 9 AI with Ryu. But with Cloud, I’m already getting two stock wins against Level 9s after playing him for just a couple of days.
Because of this, I have a suspicion that Cloud is going to be nerfed soon. We know that there’s at least one more update – the one with Corrin and Bayonetta – so there’s at least one more opportunity to fix potential balance issues. But I’m no Smash expert, so me thinking that Cloud is somewhat OP doesn’t really mean anything. We’ll just have to wait and see.
